As an Assistant Attorney General with the Department of Juvenile Services, Ms. Siri’s practice primarily involves employment and labor issues, as well as general litigation and appellate work. She provides legal advice to the Department on matters regarding Juvenile Services, state personnel, and legislation, to ensure the Department’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. She handles litigation on behalf of the Department to protect and defend the State’s interests before judicial and administrative tribunals, at the trial and appellate level, in both State and Federal Courts. Prior to joining the public sector, Ms. Siri practiced general civil defense and toxic torts with Segal, McCambridge, Singer & Mahoney. She received her B.A. in Religious Studies from the College of William & Mary, and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law in 2002, after which she was a judicial law clerk in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. In addition to the Alumni Board, Ms. Siri is the Vice-Chair of the Board for Planned Parenthood of Maryland. She was named one of Maryland’s Leading Women in 2012 by The Daily Record and was honored on their VIP List in 2013. She is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. Circuit Court for the Fourth Circuit.
