The A.J. Cooper Award is presented to a Maryland law student who has demonstrated a commitment to the Baltimore community and furthered the distinguished legacy of the Black Law Students Association.
Firm Diversity Award - Whiteford Taylor Preston, LLP
The Firm Diversity Award is presented to a law firm in the greater Baltimore area that promotes the recruitment and retention of minority attorneys.
Administrator of the Year - Michele Hayes, JD, LLM
The Administrator of the Year Award is presented to a member of the University of Maryland School of Law administration who has been a tremendous resource for law students.
Professor of the Year - Professor Michael Pinard
The Professor of the Year Award is presented to the Maryland Law professor who continues to support the academic and professional growth of law students.
Practitioner of the Year - William H. Murphy III
The Practitioner of the Year Award is presented to a Baltimore attorney who has excelled in legal practice.
Alumnus of the Year - Craig A. Thompson '95
The Alumnus of the Year Award is presented to a Black Law Student Association alumnus who has committed his or her career to advancing the goals of the National Black Law Students Association.
BLSA Impact Award - Wayne Williams
The Impact Award is presented to a member of the University of Maryland Law School Community who has significantly extended himself or herself on behalf of the Black Law Students Association.
Trailblazer Award - The Honorable Marcella Holland '83
The BLSA Trailblazer Award is presented in recognition of an individual whose off the beaten path, independent thought and pioneering contributions have “blazed a trail” in the legal profession.
1L Book Scholarship - Nia Duggins
The 1L Book Scholarship is presented to a first-year member of the Black Law Students Association based upon a personal statement and academic success.
Murphy Family Scholarship - Victoria Daka
The William Murphy Family Scholarship is presented to a second-year member of the Black Law Students Association for outstanding academic achievement.
