Join us for a day with Maryland's legislators.

    Friday, January 20, 2012
    The Maryland State House
    350 Rowe Boulevard
    Annapolis, MD 21401

Students and alumni are invited to participate in UM Carey Law Advocacy Day in Annapolis on Friday, January 20 to build relationships with members of the Maryland General Assembly and strengthen the School of Law’s presence in Annapolis.

There will be a briefing on the issues in preparation for the Legislative Day at noon on Wednesday, January 18th in Room 310.  Pizza will be served.

Participants will be organized in small groups to meet with members of the Maryland General Assembly in 15-minute intervals throughout the day. The
UMB Office of Government & Community Affairs (GCA) will pre-arrange the meetings with legislators. Participants will also have an opportunity to sit in Chamber on the House and Senate floor and be recognized with Dean Haddon.

    Find your elected official online.

When registering, please provide your current address and the address of your hometown if you are from MD. This will help GCA in arranging the meetings with legislators. In the individual meetings with legislators, participants will be asked to focus on the school’s advocacy message and share personal stories about their interest in pursuing a law career and their intended career goals.
